Both options are possible. When you are not at home, your parcels are delivered by default according to the delivery preferences set in MyPreferences . You can also set or change your delivery preferences per parcel. bpost will send you a separate e-mail for each parcel. In this e-mail, you can set or change your delivery preferences for that specific parcel. Tip: You can also change your delivery preferences for all your parcels or for just one parcel in the My bpost app.
You can protect the contents of your parcel within Belgium up to €500 via the ‘With warranty’ mailing option. In case of loss or damage, you will be reimbursed for the value of the contents of your shipment (up to max. €500) + the shipping costs. If the contents only include documents, then you will be reimbursed €15 in case of damage or loss. You can select the ‘With warranty’ mailing option when creating a shipping label via the online shipping tool. Or go to a Post Office or Post Point near you and ask the counter clerk to send your parcel with warranty. With a regular shipping label, without extra options, we only reimburse the shipping costs of your parcel if we are responsible for the loss or the damage. 
We will only leave a failed delivery notice if we cannot reach you digitally. That helps us cut our paper consumption. For the latest information about the status and whereabouts of your parcel, see our emails, the My bpost app or Track & Trace . , Picking up a parcel , You can collect your parcel by showing the barcode number of your parcel in the e-mail or in the My bpost app. As soon as your parcel is at a Pick-up point, the status of your shipment is updated on Track & Trace and you will receive an e-mail. So always check the status of your parcel online before you go to the Pick-up point.
You can easily ask someone else to pick up your parcel. The process depends on the type of Parcel Locker your parcel has been delivered to. , In a Parcel Locker with screen , If you have received a parcel in a Parcel Locker with a screen, you will receive an e-mail containing: the barcode of your parcel a QR code a code of 6 digits and/or numbers (just below the QR code). With one of these three elements, someone else can pick up your parcel from a Parcel Locker. You can simply forward the e-mail you have received to the person who would like to pick up your parcel for you. , In a Screenless Parcel Locker , If your parcel has been delivered to a Screenless Parcel Locker, you need to send the barcode of your parcel to the person who would like to collect your parcel for you (you will find the barcode in the e-mail announcing that your parcel is available). The person who is picking up your parcel on your behalf should then enter the barcode of your parcel in their My bpost app. (You can add a shipment via the home screen). In turn, you will receive a tracking request for that parcel in the app. You can easily accept this request. If you do not, the request will be automatically declined after 24 hours. Once accepted, the designated person can track and collect your parcel for you. The process for the person to pick up your parcel is as follows: Go to the Parcel Locker and enable Bluetooth and location on your smartphone Open the My bpost app and select the parcel you would like to receive Follow the steps in the app to connect to the Parcel Locker Take out the parcel and close the door.
The My bpost app will not be able to connect to the Parcel Locker if: Your smartphone does not have access to your location and/or Bluetooth on your smartphone is not enabled. You are not standing in front of the correct locker. Always check the exact address and number of the Parcel Locker in the e-mail you have received from us (sometimes there are 2 lockers in the same street). Your parcel has been returned to the sender. This happens when you do not pick up your parcel after 5 working days. You can always find the latest pick-up date in the e-mail you have received from us (or in the My bpost app).
You can always check online (via e-mail, Track & Trace or the My bpost app ) when your parcel will be available. , My parcel will be delivered directly to a Pick-up point or Parcel Locker , In this case, you will always receive a confirmation e-mail, text message or notification in the My bpost app when your parcel is available. , My parcel was not delivered to my home and has been taken to a Pick-up point or Parcel Locker , If your parcel cannot be delivered to your home or left with a neighbour or in a safe place, you will be able to pick it up next working day from a pick-up point or a parcel locker. We will send you an email or push a notification to your app to tell you when you can pick up your parcel. If we cannot reach you digitally, we will pop a failed delivery notice through your letterbox stating where and when you can pick up your parcel. Please note that the Pick-up point can still change. As soon as your parcel is at a Pick-up point, the status of your parcel will be updated on Track & Trace or you will be notified in the My bpost app . You will also always receive an e-mail when your parcel is ready for pick-up at a Pick-up point. Therefore, always check the status of your parcel online before you go to the Pick-up point.

The My bpost app is your gateway to various bpost services. You can track parcels, set your delivery preferences, settle import charges and so much more… , See the status of parcels in Track & Trace , You can track all your parcels in the app. That includes parcels delivered by other companies. Most bpost parcels are shown automatically in the app. You can add other parcels by scanning the barcode or manually entering the barcode number. You receive status updates to ensure you always know where your parcel is. You can choose which parcels you want to receive status updates for. , Set your delivery preferences for parcels , In the delivery preferences you can choose where a parcel is left if you are not home up to five minutes before delivery: your preferred neighbour a safe place in or around your home your preferred pick-up point You can also have your parcel delivered straight to a pick-up point or parcel locker. , Set your delivery preferences for registered mail , In the app you can also set as your preference that registered mail is delivered to your letterbox without you having to sign for it. You receive an email as soon as a registered mail item is delivered to your letterbox. You can find them everywhere in Belgium, near supermarkets, stations, office buildings, etc. , Sending a parcel via a bbox locker with screen , Take your parcel (with a return label on it) to a bbox locker in your neighbourhood. Scan the code on your shipping label or enter the barcode manually. Put the parcel in the locker that opens automatically. If the locker is too small, press 'Report a problem' on the screen and close the locker. A larger locker will then open. Close the door and confirm on the screen. , Sending a parcel via a Screenless bbox locker , Take your parcel (with a return label on it), to a bbox locker in your neighbourhood. Open the My bpost app and make sure that Bluetooth and location features are enabled on your smartphone. Click 'Send' at the bottom of the app and then on 'Add a shipment'. Follow the steps to select the Parcel Locker and an appropriate locker. Place your parcel in the locker and close the door. The postman will empty the lockers every working day. You will then receive a confirmation e-mail (be sure to check your junk mail). You can easily follow your parcel via the My bpost app or Track & Trace .
