The new Mail Ahead feature in the My bpost app is currently a beta version. During the testing phase, we limit the number of users to a selection of beta testers. How do I know if I can activate Mail Ahead (beta)? If you’ve received an e-mail or see the ‘Mail Ahead’ tab in the ‘More’ menu of the My bpost app, you can activate and test this feature. Simply verify your identity and address with itsme®. More options to verify your ID will soon be available. How do I deactivate Mail Ahead (beta)? You can deactivate Mail Ahead in the 'More' menu, in ‘Mail Ahead’ tab. If the switch button is red, Mail Ahead is activated. To deactivate this feature, simply turn off the button. When the button is grey, Mail Ahead is deactivated.
Why isn’t all my mail shown in the My bpost app ?
FAQResidential
Through Mail Ahead, we aim to give you the fullest possible overview of mail on its way to you. During this test phase, the app shows only mail processed through our sorting machines, with your privacy fully respected. This may mean that some mail arrives in your mailbox without appearing in the app (yet).
No, if you are not home, the postman will leave a failed delivery notice that indicates where and when you (or your proxy) can pick up your registered mail.
How do I know if registered mail is on its way to me?
FAQResidential
If we know your email address you will automatically receive an email and a notification in the My bpost app that a registered mail item is on its way. It’s easy to turn these notifications on and off in the My bpost app. If you are unable to take receipt of this registered mail item, you have these options: You can have it delivered straight to your letterbox. You can give someone a proxy to take receipt on your behalf . You can postpone delivery of your registered mail by one working day or have it delivered straight to a Post Office or Post Point near you.
At the moment, proofs of deposit cannot be sent by email. You can receive this proof in the My bpost app or in the shipping tool if you create a shipping label there. The proof of deposit will appear in the app or in your account when your registered mail item enters our network. This is deemed a legally valid document in the event of a dispute. You will receive a stamped proof of deposit from the person at the counter if you prepare and drop off your registered mail at a Post Office or Post Point. This is also deemed a legally valid document in the event of a dispute.
It is best to contact our customer service via the online form at the bottom of this page and keep your mailing receipt ready. We start an investigation in collaboration with the foreign post operator that handled your shipment.
How do I know who the sender of my registered mail is?
FAQResidential
If you are not home, a failed delivery notice will be left in your letterbox. It contains all the information about your registered mail that we have received from the sender. You can also find this information via Track & Trace. For registered mail, we generally do not receive digital information from the sender. If there is no sender on Track & Trace or on your failed delivery notice, customer care cannot give you any extra information either.
Just because you've granted a mandate to receive your registered mail directly in your mailbox doesn't mean that the postman can drop off all registered mail without asking for your signature. He will need your signature for the following registered items: with acknowledgement of receipt including court mail from abroad, for which you must pay import fees with tailor-made insurance, because of their value electoral too big to fit in your letterbox The postman must also ring your doorbell if your letterbox is not compliant or not sufficiently secure (e.g. open or full).
bpost delivers during the weekend in certain cases. This depends on the type of shipment, the sender and the delivery address. Letters and registered mail are currently only delivered on weekdays. Some senders, such as certain web shops, have agreements with bpost to have their parcels delivered to home addresses on Saturdays and Sundays. It is therefore possible that your parcel will be delivered: to a Pick-up point or Parcel Locker on Saturday between 8:00 and 17:00 or to your home on Sunday between 9:00 and 19:00 You can follow the status of your parcel via the My bpost app or Track & Trace .
Why can I only use my official name for Mail Ahead?
FAQResidential
In this beta version of Mail Ahead, only your official name from your itsme® account can be used. This feature will evolve thanks to our beta testers feedback, and we’re currently exploring technical options to allow you to use your nicknames or a name you use more frequently.
