You can protect the contents of your parcel sent abroad up to €500 via the ‘With warranty’ mailing option. In case of loss or damage, you will be reimbursed for the value of the contents of your shipment (up to max. €500) + the shipping costs. If the contents only include documents, then you will be reimbursed €15 in case of damage or loss. You can select the ‘With warranty’ mailing option when creating a shipping label via the online shipping tool. Or go to a Post Office or Post Point near you and ask the counter clerk to mail your parcel sent abroad with warranty. More information about the calculation of this compensation .
Stay in control of your parcels and registered mail, even if your plans change. Convenient functions that make your life easier, with regular updates.
When the mail carrier rings your bell to deliver a parcel, you can hand over 2 parcels containing old, small electronic devices (e.g. laptop, mobile phone, computer mouse, etc.) free of charge. Your parcel must meet the following conditions and have a Recupel shipping label . If the parcel fits in the letterbox, the mail carrier won’t ring your bell, and you won’t be able to hand over a parcel containing electronic devices. If you want to give the mail carrier a parcel for shipment at the same time, you can only hand over one parcel containing old electronic devices. Recupel is a non-profit organisation that organises the collection and processing of discarded electronic devices in Belgium. Recupel return via bpost is a pilot project running until 28 February 2023. After an evaluation, bpost may continue to offer this service.
bpost regularly issues special stamps for national mail, Priority stamps, and Non-Priority stamps with a value of 1. Special stamps can be purchased in: Our eShop A Post Office or Post Point A stamp shop (bookshops, supermarkets, petrol stations, etc.) Note: for non-standardised mail you must attach multiple special stamps until you attain the correct price.
It is forbidden to send money by both national and international mail. More information about things that you cannot send as a letter can be found in the General Terms and Conditions. Sometimes it's better to send objects in a reinforced envelope or as a parcel. Do you want to send an important letter? We recommend that you send it as Registered Mail (if desired with a Declared Value).
There are personalised stamps for every kind of shipment: Priority in Belgium – for next workday delivery Non-Priority in Belgium, values 1 and 2 – for delivery within 3 workdays Mail within Europe (Europe stamp) Mail for rest of the world (World stamp)
There are alternatives if you do not want a photo to be taken of your ID card during the delivery of registered mail. You can also have a photo taken of something else that proves who you are. It must always be issued by an official body or agency and it must include your full name and a photo that is clearly recognisable as you. Examples are a passport, a driving licence or a train or bus pass. You can also ask the person delivering to note down your full name and ID card number on the missed delivery notice and take a photo of that. Or ask him or her to hand your registered mail in at the post office of post point. When you go there to pick it up, you will again be asked to allow a photo to be taken of your ID card. You can then ask the person at the counter to note down your full name and ID card number and take a photo of that instead. You can also set up a last-minute mandate in the My bpost app under ‘delivery preferences’. You will receive a QR code you or someone else can use to take receipt of the registered mail item.
You can choose the date your postcard will be sent, but not the date it will be delivered. This means you're able to plan the sending of your cards in advance. We print your cards on the planned date and send them the same day. If you send your card to an address in Belgium by 'Priority' mail, it will be delivered the first workday after being made. If you send your card to an address in Belgium by 'Non-priority' mail, it will be delivered in Belgium within three workdays. If you send a card to an address in a country other than Belgium, the delivery is in the hands of the postal service of that country.

Stamps with a face value in Belgian francs will be invalid from 1 January 2028. Stamps with a face value in euros are valid indefinitely.
