Why was my priority letter not delivered on time?
FAQResidential
We're sorry that your letter with a priority stamp was not delivered on time. Your priority letter will be delivered the next day in Belgium in 95% of the cases if: Your priority letter is placed in a red mailbox before the last collection of the day. The collection time is listed on the mailbox. Your priority letter is handed in at a Post Office or Post Point before the last collection. The collection time is listed in every Post Office and Post Point. Only in exceptional cases will your priority letter not be delivered on time (e.g. a technical malfunction). As a regulator of the postal market, BIPT sees to it that at least 95% of the letters with a priority stamp are delivered within Belgium the next workday.
You can choose the date your postcard will be sent, but not the date it will be delivered. This means you're able to plan the sending of your cards in advance. We print your cards on the planned date and send them the same day. If you send your card to an address in Belgium by 'Priority' mail, it will be delivered the first workday after being made. If you send your card to an address in Belgium by 'Non-priority' mail, it will be delivered in Belgium within three workdays. If you send a card to an address in a country other than Belgium, the delivery is in the hands of the postal service of that country.
Can I send money with Ria without an ID card?
FAQResidential
For a money transfer with Ria Money Transfer, you always need a valid identity document to identify yourself as the sender. In Belgium, that is your ID card. Ria also accepts your Belgian ID card in all countries of the European Union, Norway, Switzerland and Iceland. Other documents are not required. If you want to send money from other countries, you need a passport. If your ID card is lost or stolen, you can send money with an official proof of loss issued by the police. Please note: in that case you must already be a Ria customer. If you don't have a Belgian ID card, you can also send money with your passport, residence card or attestation of registration (provisional residence document).
How much does it cost to return a parcel?
FAQResidential
If the original sender offers you the option to return your parcel, then you have two options: The return shipment is free. The return shipment is not free. Either you must pay part of the costs yourself in the Post Office or Post Point where you turn in your return shipment, or the original sender deducts a small return fee from the amount that he refunds. If the original sender does not offer any return options, then you must send your parcel as a regular shipment. In that case, the price of your parcel depends on the weight, the size and the destination. Use our online shipping tool to calculate the price of your parcel.
Why do I have to pay customs formalities on all shipments from outside the EU worth more than €150?
FAQResidential
For purchases outside the EU with a value of €150 or more, the online shop is not allowed to collect the VAT. This must be done on arrival in Belgium. That is why, in addition to VAT and any import duties, you also have to pay customs formalities for the clearance of your shipment. For this type of shipment the cost is €40. An example: You buy a piece of jewellery for €160 outside the EU. In addition to this, you will have to pay: Import costs: €40 VAT (21%): €41.79 This brings the total cost of the piece of jewellery to €241.79 (= €160 + €40 + €41.79)
What should I take with me to the Post Office or Post Point to ensure my registered mail is ready to send straight away?
FAQResidential

Why was I not notified of my incoming registered mail?
FAQResidential
Incoming registered mail is scanned to check that the name on the envelope is the same as the name in your account. You will receive notification of incoming registered mail in the following situations: If you have a My bpost app account If you have a MyPreferences account If you have been to a Post Office or Post Point to request delivery of registered mail straight to your letterbox We won’t be able to send a notification if the name on the envelope is not exactly the same as the name in your account. To avoid this, add all possible versions of your name in your account (for example Alexandre Jansen, Alex Jansen, and A. Jansen). You may also want to check that you haven’t turned off registered mail notifications. It’s easy to turn these notifications back on in the My bpost app.
I receive someone else's mail. What can I do?
FAQResidential

You no longer want to receive someone else's letters? Cross out the address, write on the envelope that this person no longer lives at this address, then place the letter in a red mailbox or in the mailbox at a Post Office. We will inform the sender. Is the address on the letters that you receive incorrect? We are sorry that our postman is delivering someone else's mail in your letterbox. The best way to report this is via the online form at the bottom of this page. We will ask for your contact details so that we can talk to the right postman about this.
