Privacy notice – parcel receivers

bpost receives your personal data (first name, surname, email address, phone number, delivery address) from the parcel shipper.

This data is processed by bpost (Boulevard Anspach 1/1, 1000 Brussels), the data controller, in accordance with the contractual stipulations agreed with the shipper, with a view to delivering the parcel and, where applicable, enabling you to track your parcel delivery status on our track and trace platform or in our mobile app.

Your email address and phone number may be used by bpost to notify you of the date and approximate time of delivery of your parcel or to tell us your delivery preferences with regard to your future parcels.

In order to evaluate the services related to the delivery of your parcel (including our emails, websites, applications, products and services), and in particular to make their design more user-friendly and efficient, bpost may process your email address and click behavior. The data collected are aggregated by bpost into click rates and used exclusively in that aggregated form.

Your address, as shared with bpost by the shipper, may also be used by us to make your future online shopping experience even more convenient by filling out your address details automatically.

This personal data may be available to our IT service providers, which may be located outside the European Economic Area. In this case, the measures described in the model contractual clauses of the European Commission are imposed on them.

Your personal data will be kept for 13 months after the delivery of your parcel and then erased, unless you register with our parcel delivery preference service. In certain circumstances, you may also access your personal data, have it corrected where applicable, have it erased, restrict its processing or request its portability by signed and dated written request, enclosing proof of your identity, by post to bpost, Data Protection Office, Boulevard Anspach 1/1, 1000 Brussels or online through the link to the form in our General Privacy Policy at: www.bpost.be/en/privacy.

You may file a complaint with the relevant authority in Belgium if no reply to this request is received via www.dataprotectionauthority.be
