  We process your international registered mail as a priority shipment. After that it depends on the delivery period of the foreign post operator that handles your shipment. Once the shipment leaves Belgium, the delivery period differs from country to country.
We automatically treat international mail as priority mail. But the final delivery period depends on the postal service in the destination country. bpost has no influence over this. To be sure that your letter or card is treated as priority mail abroad, attach an 'A PRIOR' stick-on label. You can get those labels for free in a Post Office.
To send a letter abroad, you need an international stamp: a Europe stamp for European destinations a World stamp for the rest of the world. You can use whatever sort of paper or envelope for your international letter. You can mail your letter by dropping it in one of bpost's Red Mailboxes or drop it off in a Post Office or Postal Point .
Registered mail is not faster than a regular delivery. To have your letter delivered tomorrow, use a Priority stamp and place it in a red mailbox (do that before the last collection) or drop off your letter in a Post Office before 16:00.
If you get a parcel that is intended for someone else, then you shouldn't use the return label. Bring the parcel to a Post Office. Tell the counter clerk that the parcel was delivered to the wrong address. We will make sure that it is delivered to the correct address.

You can designate someone else to take receipt of your registered mail on your behalf. In such a case you give them a proxy. You can do that in various ways. Give a proxy in the My bpost app You will receive a notification in the app or by email about new incoming registered mail, provided you haven’t turned off notifications. So if you won’t be home, you’ll still have time to set up a proxy. Open the app and tap first ‘More’, then ‘delivery preferences’. Tap ‘registered mail’ and choose your preferred proxy: ‘Last minute’ or ‘Classic’. Identify yourself (with itsme® or with your ID card) and follow the steps. You will receive a QR code, which you can pass on to the person of your choosing. This person simply shows this QR code during delivery. If you set up a traditional proxy, they will also have to present their ID card.   Set up a proxy on your failed delivery notice If you are not at home and you have not set any delivery preferences, we will leave a failed delivery notice. You can set up a proxy using this notification: Simply add the requested details on the rear and sign. Give this to the person you choose, along with a copy of the front and back of your ID card. To take receipt of the registered mail from the postwoman or man or at the Post Office counter this person presents: Their own ID card; The failed delivery notice as completed and signed by you; The copy of your ID card. Once you have attached the shipping label to your parcel and placed it in one of bpost's Post Points, you can no longer edit the shipping details. Your addressee can edit his/her delivery preferences online or via the My bpost app (for all parcels or per parcel).
Each delivered card/letter will cost the price of a PRIOR sending (see Quantity-pricing for 0-50 g letters). If you were given the red bag by your funeral service provider, they will invoice you the full cost after the funerals. If you drop your letters/cards directly at the Post Office, you will pay the total amount upfront.
