Why was my priority letter not delivered on time?

We're sorry that your letter with a priority stamp was not delivered on time. Your priority letter will be delivered the next day in Belgium in 95% of the cases if: Your priority letter is placed in a red mailbox before the last collection of the day. The collection time is listed on the mailbox. Your priority letter is handed in at a Post Office or Post Point before the last collection. The collection time is listed in every Post Office and Post Point. Only in exceptional cases will your priority letter not be delivered on time (e.g. a technical malfunction). As a regulator of the postal market, BIPT sees to it that at least 95% of the letters with a priority stamp are delivered within Belgium the next workday.

We will send you an email or push a notification to your app to tell you when you can pick up your parcel. If we cannot reach you digitally, we will pop a failed delivery notice through your letterbox stating where and when you can pick up your parcel. Please note that the Pick-up point can still change. As soon as your parcel is at a Pick-up point, the status of your parcel will be updated on Track & Trace or you will be notified in the My bpost app . Or if you choose that option in the Post Office or Post Point. You will have to pay extra for this option. In that case, you are protected up to €500 if your parcel is lost or damaged. You can also choose the option ‘with confirmation of delivery’, in which case you will receive a text message or email: When the parcel is delivered If the parcel could not be delivered because the addressee was not home. In that case, your parcel will be made available to the addressee at the nearest Pick-up Point. If the addressee has not collected it from the Post Office, Post Point or Parcel Locker. For parcels sent abroad, a basic guarantee of up to €500 (or €15 for documents) is included. As a private sender, you cannot take out a higher guarantee.
