Why was my priority letter not delivered on time?

We're sorry that your letter with a priority stamp was not delivered on time. Your priority letter will be delivered the next day in Belgium in 95% of the cases if: Your priority letter is placed in a red mailbox before the last collection of the day. The collection time is listed on the mailbox. Your priority letter is handed in at a Post Office or Post Point before the last collection. The collection time is listed in every Post Office and Post Point. Only in exceptional cases will your priority letter not be delivered on time (e.g. a technical malfunction). As a regulator of the postal market, BIPT sees to it that at least 95% of the letters with a priority stamp are delivered within Belgium the next workday.

, In this case an import procedure for your parcel will start upon its arrival in Belgium. The duration of this procedure depends on the following: Whether or not you already paid VAT on your shipment via the online shop The value of your shipment If you did not pay any VAT in advance or your shipment is worth more than €150, the bpost customs clearance service must first determine the import costs. To do this, the value of the contents of your shipment must be known (based on the invoice). If this is not provided, bpost will ask you to upload the invoice of your purchase online. You have 14 days to pay the import costs (VAT, import duties or any other customs fees and formalities). Most shipments are cleared within a week. In this phase, your goods are declared to Belgian customs. Customs has the right to check the content of your shipment. Please allow an additional 3 to 7 days for delivery in case of extra inspections.

Can I transfer funds from my bpaid card to my bank account?

You cannot transfer funds from your bpaid card to your bank account. If you wish to cancel your bpaid card and claim the unused funds on the card, visit a Post Office. You will have to present your ID card and your bpaid card. The unused funds on the card will be transferred to your account along with a proportional part of the annual administration costs.

How can I receive my money?

You pick up the money in a Post Office in your neighbourhood or in a Ria agency. On the ‘Receive money’ form, fill in the transaction PIN code, the first and last name of the sender, and the country where the money was sent. Give the completed form to the counter clerk together with your identity document. After your details are checked, the counter clerk will pay out the amount in cash. You have 40 days to pick up your money in a Post Office or Ria agency.

Or if you choose that option in the Post Office or Post Point. You will have to pay extra for this option. In that case, you are protected up to €500 if your parcel is lost or damaged. You can also choose the option ‘with confirmation of delivery’, in which case you will receive a text message or email: When the parcel is delivered If the parcel could not be delivered because the addressee was not home. In that case, your parcel will be made available to the addressee at the nearest Pick-up Point. If the addressee has not collected it from the Post Office, Post Point or Parcel Locker. For parcels sent abroad, a basic guarantee of up to €500 (or €15 for documents) is included. As a private sender, you cannot take out a higher guarantee.
