As the sender, you don't pay import costs. If you send a parcel to a country outside the European Union, then the addressee must pay import duties, VAT, any other fees, and fees for the customs formalities. These fees depend on local customs regulations.
Registered mail is not faster than a regular delivery. To have your letter delivered tomorrow, use a Priority stamp and place it in a red mailbox (do that before the last collection) or drop off your letter in a Post Office before 16:00.
If your parcel comes from outside the European Union, it passes through customs by default. Customs is also authorised to check all shipments from inside the European Union. That usually involves suspect shipments from EU member states and shipments with excisable goods inside the European Community.
In this beta version of Mail Ahead, only your official address from your itsme® account can be used. This feature will evolve thanks to our beta testers feedback, and we’re currently exploring technical options to allow you to have multiple addresses.
There are personalised stamps for every kind of shipment: Priority in Belgium – for next workday delivery Non-Priority in Belgium, values 1 and 2 – for delivery within 3 workdays Mail within Europe (Europe stamp) Mail for rest of the world (World stamp)
The number of stamps you attach to your letter depends on: the destination the size and weight of your letter Quickly find how many stamps your letter requires via our overview page. You can calculate the price of your letter at the same time.
You can postpone delivery of your parcel once by one working day. You’ll get an email or a notification in the My bpost app stating the delivery date and location when your parcel is on its way. You’ll then be able to postpone delivery to the next working day.
Anyone you share your secure delivery code with can take receipt of and pick up your parcel. Unfortunately, due to the secure nature of these deliveries, we cannot always comply with your delivery preferences. So we cannot leave it with a neighbour, in a safe place or in a Parcel Locker.
If the distance between your home and work address is too great, we cannot offer this option under MyPreferences. You can have your parcel delivered directly to your workplace. You do that by listing your work address (instead of your home address) in the webshop checkout.
If you have a no-advertising sticker and you still receive unaddressed advertising, contact our Customer Care Centre (FR: 02 278 50 14 - NL: 02 278 50 15 ). Take into account that bpost is not the only company to deliver free local papers.
