Can I currently send parcels to the US?
Currently, there is a temporary suspension of shipments containing goods to the US and Puerto Rico.
Stricter regulations regarding shipments to the US are put into place on October 22nd. The US government announced these changes at a late stage, meaning parcel services and postal operators now need time to adjust their systems to comply with the new rules. Consequently, Bpost is compelled to temporarily stop accepting and sending shipments containing goods to the United States or Puerto Rico until our systems have been updated.
As of Monday, October 12, it is temporarily no longer possible to send parcels to the US or Puerto Rico, either online or via our Post Offices, Post Points, and Parcel Points.
Shipments for these destinations can still be handed in within our network up to and including Monday, October 12. After that date, they will no longer be accepted due to the high risk of failing to reach the destination.
Bpost is currently looking into how shipping options can be adapted to meet the new US requirements. There is no impact on contractual business customers who use our services to ship to the US.
