How do I get my money if my parcel is lost or damaged during shipment with payment upon delivery?

For a parcel with the 'payment on delivery' option, you benefit from a guarantee consisting of a contribution up to 500 euro for goods and 15 euro for documents. If you would like to apply for a compensation, it is best to contact our customer service via the online form at the bottom of this page. This way, you can immediately provide all the necessary information and documents to process your file. In case of damage, the complaint must be submitted within 7 calendar days.
Because you are the sender, you must submit the compensation request. The compensation depends on the type of shipment: Standard: the shipping costs are reimbursed according to CMR conventions. Guaranteed option with sign for receipt: compensation up to €500 for goods and €15 for documents. If the status of your parcel does not change in Track & Trace, there may be different causes: Your parcel is delayed. Our foreign colleagues cannot give Track & Trace information about your parcel. If the status of your parcel remains unchanged for several workdays (at least 5 workdays for shipments to a neighbouring country, at least 10 workdays for the United Kingdom and all other countries), and the addressee has not received anything, contact our customer service via the online form at the bottom of this page. This is the quickest way to start an investigation. Only the sender can ask to open a dossier with bpost. If you are the recipient, please contact your sender.

, Dangerous objects are objects that, due to their shape, nature or packaging, can be dangerous for people or can damage other shipments, the equipment of bpost, or the goods of third-parties (including parcels). Some daily objects also cannot be sent with the post. These include lighters, perfume, manicure products, glue, paint, flammable liquids, spray cans, deodorants under pressure, hair dye and lithium batteries. How much does it cost to send a Mobile Postcard?

All cards made in the Mobile Postcard app are printed and sent from Belgium. You pay for your postcard upon shipment, or you purchase credits in advance . Your app is getting a makeover soon: it is no longer possible to purchase credits, but your existing credits remain valid. By buying your credits in advance, you save yourself valuable time and money: You don't need to pay for your postcards one by one. The price per postcard drops if you buy at least five credits in advance. Your credits are linked to your accounts and always remain valid, even if the rates happen to change. Cards for a destination in Belgium are sent at domestic rates.

Mobile Postcard can't currently be followed via Track & Trace; they are treated as regular letters or cards. If you entered a

, How soon will my personalised postcard be delivered?
, This depends on the sending options you've chosen for your Mobile Postcard. In any case, your postcard will be printed and sent the same day if you make your order in the app by 3 p.m. If you send your postcard as 'Priority' mail, it will reach its destination address in Belgium the next workday. If you send your postcard as 'Non-priority mail', it will be delivered within three workdays. For destinations outside Belgium, we treat your postcard as 'Priority' mail while it's in Belgium. But after that, your postcard is in the hands of the postal service of the destination country. Are you sure your Mobile Postcard didn't arrive and that you filled in a correct address? How can I track my registered mail online?

Go to Track & Trace or use the My bpost app to track your mail. Enter the alphanumerical part of the barcode of your mail item. You’ll find this on the proof of receipt or your till receipt. If you created a shipping label, you can track your registered mail item in the My bpost app.

On gifts from family or friends from outside the EU, customs charges import costs if the shipment does not meet all the requirements of a gift . If you believe that your shipment does meet these conditions, you can dispute these costs and apply for an exemption. You can do this after you have received a letter or request for payment.
