In principle, bpost does not open letters. There are a number of reasons why we do open letters (read the General Terms and Conditions ): We cannot deliver the letter to the addressee and there is no return address on the envelope. We open the letter to identify the sender. That enables us to return the letter. My letter is damaged. What happened? It's possible that our sorting machines damaged the envelope. That happens occasionally to thick letters or letters with a special size. In that case, the sender should choose a reinforced envelope or a parcel.

Will bpost pick up my parcel?
FAQ
Residential
If desired, we will pick up your return shipment at your home. The price for the ‘Pick-up on demand’ service depends on where we must pick up your parcel. You request a pick-up or "collect" online. If you request a pick-up online before 11:30 or via phone before 12:00, then the postman will pick up your parcel(s) the same day between 12:00 and 17:00. If you contact us later in the day, then the postman will pass by the next workday. Attach a bpost shipping label on every parcel. That label is not included in the price of the pick-up. You can have multiple parcels picked up simultaneously: maximum 1.5 m³ and 500 kg per pick-up. Each parcel can weigh maximum 30 kg.
My parcel is lost. What do I do now?
FAQ
Residential
We recommend that you contact the sender if: The status of your your parcel remains unchanged for several workdays (at least 5 workdays for shipments to a neighbouring country, at least 10 workdays for the United Kingdom and all other countries). Track & Trace mentions the status ‘delivered’ but you cannot find the parcel anywhere. The sender can work with you to see what the best solution is for your order. Most senders have permanent agreements with bpost regarding lost parcels. Only the sender can submit a complaint regarding a lost parcel because the sender pays bpost for the shipment. If you are the sender, please contact our customer service. It is best to do this via the online form at the bottom of this page. This way, you can immediately provide us with all the necessary information to start an investigation.
