You can prepare most types of registered mail using the My bpost app or online shipping tool. Please note that the delivery address must be in Belgium. This includes: Normalised registered mail (standard format) Non-normalised registered mail (non-standard format) Registered mail with proof of receipt For registered mail with a foreign delivery address, you should go to a Post Office or Post Point.
There is already a return label in the parcel that I want to send back. Should I use that label?

If there is a return label in your parcel, then you should use it. That usually means that you can send back your return shipment for free. If you want to be sure, check the website of the original sender.
I got my letter back because the address was incorrect. How do I know if I am using the correct address?

To be sure of the correct address, you can validate it online on the bpost website. You check if the address in Belgium is known at bpost but not if the person still lives there. If your addressee has moved, you will have to ask him/her for the new address. Note: if you got your letter back because the address was incorrect, use a new envelope and new stamps.

You will receive several emails throughout the delivery process of your parcel: You will receive an email as soon as the sender tells us they want us to deliver your parcel and provides us with your email address. When your parcel is sorted, you will receive an email confirming the planned delivery date with a timeslot and allowing you to choose a delivery preference, including the option for next working day delivery. On the day of delivery, you will receive an email stating an estimated time of delivery. If you will not be home at that time, the email enables you to indicate where you want your parcel to be delivered. If the postman delivered your parcel in your letterbox, in a safe place or to a neighbour, you will receive a confirmation email. If your parcel is available at a Pick-up Point, Parcel Locker or point of sale, you will receive a confirmation email. Every email includes a link to track your parcel via our Track & Trace page. You can also track your parcel at any time in the My bpost app or on Track & Trace. If the status of a parcel changes, you will be informed with a notification in the app. You can always choose where your parcel will be delivered if you are not at home.

What are import duties and who pays them?

The My bpost app will not be able to connect to the bbox locker if: Your smartphone does not have access to your location and/or Bluetooth on your smartphone is not enabled. You are not standing in front of the correct bbox. Always check the exact address and number of the bbox in the e-mail you have received from us (sometimes there are 2 bbox lockers in the same street). Your parcel has been returned to the sender. This happens when you do not pick up your parcel after 5 working days. You can always find the latest pick-up date in the e-mail you have received from us (or in the My bpost app).
