What does a barcode look like and where can I find it?

There are several bpost barcodes in circulation for parcels. Here are the most common ones. 24 digits starting with 3299 or 3232 (e.g. 329998745632147852365873) 18 digits starting with 3232 (e.g. 323256984521032569) 13 characters starting with two letters (CE, EE, CD, CZ) and ending with two letters (e.g. EE123456789BE) 27 characters starting with JJBEA (e.g. JJBEA2356412012365478896541) The following barcodes are used for registered mail: 30 digits for national registered mail, starting with 010 (e.g. 010541288500452621221234567890) 13 characters for international registered mail, starting with R (e.g. RA123456789FR) You’ll find the barcode in the following places: shipping label receipt mailing receipt notice of absence (see image) confirmation email communication from the sender Afwezigheidsbericht
You can also pick up your registered mail by showing the barcode or mailing number. Don't forget to bring your ID card. Let us know if your postman didn't leave a failed delivery notice so that we can improve our services.

Why do I have to enter the e-mail address of the addressee when making my shipping label online?

If you enter the e-mail address of the addressee for a shipment within Belgium, we can respect the delivery preferences that he/she entered in our tool. For a delivery to a Parcel Locker, we need the e-mail address to let the addressee know where and how he/she can pick up the parcel. For shipments abroad, we are required to request an email address.

What should I take with me to the Post Office or Post Point to ensure my registered mail is ready to send straight away?

All the documents you need to send registered mail are available at your Post Office or Post Point. You can also pick up these documents to prepare your registered mail at home. You can also prepare your registered mail item in the My bpost app or via our online shipping tool. In that case, you will receive a digital shipping label, which you should print and affix to your mail item. Then all you need to do is drop it off in a Red Letterbox, at a Post Office or at a Post Point.
I can only pick up my registered mail after the last date on the failed delivery notice. What should I do?

In this case, you have two possibilities: Either you give a postal mandate form to someone (18 and older) to pick up the registered mail in your place Or you have the Moving Department at bpost keep your mail until you return .
