If your code isn’t accepted, you may have mixed it up with another parcel you are expecting. In that case, the other parcel should have been left at a pick-up point close to you. Your parcel will also be dropped off at a pick-up point if there’s a technical issue at the time of delivery. Check your email, Track & Trace and the My bpost app to know where it’s been taken. If you’re sure the code was right, contact our customer service to sort it out.
Via MyPreferences and the My bpost app you determine where your parcel can and cannot be delivered if you are not home. You can choose from three delivery preferences : - to a Pick-up point or Parcel Locker in your neighbourhood - in a safe place (e.g. under a carport or lean-to) - to a neighbour You can choose which specific neighbour can accept your parcel if you are not home. If this neighbour also isn't home, your parcel will be delivered to a Pick-up point.
Please let us know using the online form at the bottom of this page or call our customer service. Make sure you have the barcode of your parcel at hand. You can find it in the e-mail you have received from us and in the My bpost app. If you find a wrong parcel in a Parcel Locker with a screen, please call 02 320 23 90 (available 24/7). If you find a wrong parcel in a Screenless Parcel Locker, please call 02 278 50 87 (available 24/7).
In principle, bpost does not open letters. There are a number of reasons why we do open letters (read the General Terms and Conditions ): We cannot deliver the letter to the addressee and there is no return address on the envelope. We open the letter to identify the sender. That enables us to return the letter. My letter is damaged. What happened? It's possible that our sorting machines damaged the envelope. That happens occasionally to thick letters or letters with a special size. In that case, the sender should choose a reinforced envelope or a parcel.
Place your shipment in a strong box and fill the box with filler material like old newspapers. You can use your own box or a bpost box. Seal the box with tape. Make sure that there are no labels on the box from a previous shipment. Check whether the box falls within the permitted dimensions. The longest side may be maximum 1.5 m and all sides together may be maximum 3 m. Your parcel cannot weigh more than 30 kg. These preparations are the same if you want to send a parcel within Belgium, within the EU and outside the EU. The shipping costs differ.
A wide range of send and return options Easily respond to the different needs of your customers around the world

If your parcel is lost or damaged after you have paid the import costs, you cannot recover these costs. Always contact the sender. The sender can launch an investigation. You will be compensated up to the amount of the customs formalities if: your shipment was sent with tracking (barcode that does not start with the letter “U”) the sender has opened an investigation the investigation makes it clear that the fault lies with bpost , Tips: , If you are buying outside the EU, choose a tracked shipment if possible. Your parcel is more likely to be found if it is lost. Choose registered webshops (Import One-Stop Shop or IOSS) that ask you to pay the VAT in advance. This will reduce costs and risks (import costs are not refunded in case of loss or damage) and shorten the delivery period.
