Do I have to have an address to use Ria?

The counter clerk in your Post Office uses the address that is on your identity document or the address that you indicate and confirm when signing the money transfer form.
I do not have a last name. Can I pick up money?

If you officially do not have a last name, you can pick up money with Ria Money Transfer. In that case, enter ‘No name’ in the last name field on the document that you receive.
How do I send a parcel with signature upon receipt?

If you want a signature upon receipt of your parcel, you should choose the shipping option ‘with guarantee’. That means the recipient must sign for receipt and you have a guarantee up to €500 if your parcel is lost or damaged. To send your parcel with a guarantee, click on the ‘Guarantee (up to €500)’ option on the online shipping tool. Or ask about it in the Post Office or Post Point. You will have to pay extra for this option. For parcels sent abroad, a basic guarantee of up to €500 (or €15 for documents) is included. As a private sender, you cannot take out a higher guarantee.
You can receive money from abroad even if you don't have a bank account. You pick up the cash in a Ria agency and only need a valid identity document to identify yourself.

In case of loss or damage, you will be reimbursed for the value of the contents of your shipment (up to max. €500) + the shipping costs. If your postcard or video card contains shocking, unethical or illegal images or messages, bpost can block your card and pass your file to the appropriate authorities.

What is my guarantee that the money will arrive?

Two safeguards guarantee that the money will arrive: You get a unique PIN code that you communicate to your addressee. The recipient can only pick up the money with that PIN code. Your addressee must identify himself or herself with an identity document to collect your money. Be careful when communicating the PIN code; only give it to your addressee.
