Can I send money?

You cannot send money as a parcel; you must send it as registered mail with a declared value. The same applies to valuable objects, jewellery and bearer bonds. You can also send registered mail with a declared value abroad, but only if the destination country offers that service.
Can I follow my letter with Track & Trace?

Currently you cannot follow your letters and cards online with Track & Trace. That is because thy don't have a unique reference number or barcode. You cannot follow priority and non-priority mail sent to destinations inside or outside Belgium. If your mail does have a barcode, for example a parcel or registered Mail, then you can follow it online with Track & Trace.
Can bpost open my parcel?

bpost has the right to open shipments with Belgium as the destination: if they cannot be delivered to the addressee; and if the address of the sender is not on the parcel. If we still cannot deliver the shipment to the addressee's address after opening it, then the parcel can be destroyed as from a certain period after it was sent: after 6 months for registered mail and shipments with a guarantee after 3 months for other shipments After the aforementioned period has expired, valuables and valuable documents included in these shipments become property of the Belgian Treasury. International shipments can also be opened by bpost if the address is not on the shipment.
How quickly will my letter be delivered abroad?

The delivery time for letters to foreign countries depends on different factors: The destination: your letter is usually delivered faster within Europe than outside Europe Postal delivery in the destination country: foreign postal services might not distribute letters daily Local holidays Within Belgium, your international letter is treated as priority mail until it reaches the border. This is not necessarily the case in the destination country.

Sometimes it's better to send objects in a reinforced envelope or as a parcel. Do you want to send an important letter? We recommend that you send it as Registered Mail (if desired with a Declared Value).

A parcel that is delivered by a different postal service can always be sent back with bpost. In that case, you must purchase a shipping label via our website, in our eShop or in a Post Office, Post Point or Parcel Point. You send your return shipment as regular mail. The price depends on the weight, the size and the destination. Use our online tool to calculate the price of your parcel. One of our partners is responsible for the delivery of your return shipment outside Belgium.

How do I send a letter abroad?

To send a letter abroad, you need an international stamp: a Europe stamp for European destinations a World stamp for the rest of the world. You can use whatever sort of paper or envelope for your international letter. You can mail your letter by dropping it in one of bpost's Red Mailboxes or drop it off in a Post Office or Postal Point .
