Accessibility statement

Accessibility statement

Bpost is committed to ensure digital accessibility, in accordance with the European Accessibility Act.

Conformance status

Our parcel lockers partially conform with the European Norm for digital accessibility (EN 301 549), the standards that define requirements to improve accessibility for people with disabilities.

This statement is based on an external in-depth audit of both the hardware and software, carried out by an IAAP certified accessibility expert of Eleven Ways on April 22nd 2025.

The audit did not cover the built-in environment all around Belgium where our lockers are located.

The App to interact with our “Lean lockers” has not been audited either.

This statement has been updated on July 18th 2025.

Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of the parcel lockers, accessibility issues have been observed. Those include :

Screen interaction

  • The screen might be too high to reach if you’re in a wheelchair
  • There is no audio option to let you operate all functions
  • A time-out limits the duration of the session
  • Some minimum contrasts are not met for buttons
  • The QR scanner is too low on several lockers

Locker compartments

  • You can not choose which door opens, which means it can be too high or too low to open
  • There is no sufficient visual or audio cue to show which door has opened

Help

  • Help service relies on voice interaction only

Improvement plan

Remediation of the accessibility issues reported above has started and will be the object of our continuous efforts until compliance is met.
