What types of registered mail can I prepare using the My bpost app or online shipping tool?

You can prepare most types of registered mail using the My bpost app or online shipping tool. Please note that the delivery address must be in Belgium. This includes: Normalised registered mail (standard format) Non-normalised registered mail (non-standard format) Registered mail with proof of receipt For all other types of registered mail (with a foreign delivery address or personalised insurance, say) you should go to a Post Office or Post Point.

At the moment, proofs of deposit cannot be sent by email. You can receive this proof in the My bpost app or in the shipping tool if you create a shipping label there. The proof of deposit will appear in the app or in your account when your registered mail item enters our network. This is deemed a legally valid document in the event of a dispute. You will receive a stamped proof of deposit from the person at the counter if you prepare and drop off your registered mail at a Post Office or Post Point. This is also deemed a legally valid document in the event of a dispute.
You must indicate the correct first and last name of your addressee at the counter of your Post Office. With the unique PIN code that you communicate to the addressee, you are sure that the money arrives in the hands of the correct person.
How much time do I have to pick up my money?

You have 40 days to pick up your money in a Post Office or Ria agency. After 40 days the sender receives a new PIN code that he or she uses to pick up the money.
Can Ria help me get my code back?

If the sender lost the PIN code, he or she can request it again: in the Post Office or Ria agency where the money was sent through Ria Money Transfer customer service. The addressee must ask the sender to send the code again.

It’s easy to turn these notifications on and off in the My bpost app. If you are unable to take receipt of this registered mail item, you have these options: You can have it delivered straight to your letterbox. You can give someone a proxy to take receipt on your behalf . You can postpone delivery of your registered mail by one working day or have it delivered straight to a Post Office or Post Point near you.
