The sorting centres, roads (logistics), the bpost network (including post offices, post points, pick-up points and parcel lockers) and delivery services are very busy during the end-of-year period between Black Friday and Christmas Day. In order to offset the extra costs incurred during this period, all customers that ship parcels during the end-of-year peak (between Black Friday and Christmas Day) will be billed a surcharge of €1 (excl. VAT) per parcel.

I have a return label but I still have to pay for my shipment. How is that possible?
FAQ
Residential
The original sender of your parcel determines the return terms and conditions. You might have to pay for part of the return shipment. Always check the return terms and conditions on the website of the original sender in advance, or contact the original sender.
It is possible that a sender added an incorrect (and coincidentally your) email address to a shipment. Be sure to check that your email address is spelled correctly in the 'My email addresses' menu. (You will find 'My email addresses' in the 'More' menu at the bottom of the app).
I purchased a guarantee for my parcel. When will I be refunded in the event of damage or loss?
FAQ
Residential
That depends from case to case. If your parcel is lost or damaged and you would like to file a claim for a compensation, it is best to contact our customer service via the online form at the bottom of this page. This way, you can immediately provide all the necessary information and documents to process your file. In case of damage, the complaint must be submitted within 7 calendar days.
My parcel seems to be stuck somewhere. It has not moved for a while on Track & Trace.
FAQ
Residential
If your parcel was not delivered, check the status of your shipment via Track & Trace or the My bpost app first. If the status of your parcel has not changed for a while (at least 5 workdays for shipments to a neighbouring country, at least 10 workdays for the United Kingdom and all other countries), ask the sender to contact our customer service. Only the sender of your parcel can submit a complaint. Why do I have to contact the sender? Only the sender of your parcel can submit a complaint about a parcel that is not delivered. The sender will look for a solution together with bpost. If you are the sender, please contact our customer service via the online form . This way you can immediately provide all the necessary information and documents to process your file.
Do my delivery preferences apply to all parcels or can I set them separately for each parcel?
FAQ
Residential
Both options are possible. When you are not at home, your parcels are delivered by default according to the delivery preferences set in MyPreferences . You can also set or change your delivery preferences per parcel. bpost will send you a separate e-mail for each parcel. In this e-mail, you can set or change your delivery preferences for that specific parcel. Tip: You can also change your delivery preferences for all your parcels or for just one parcel in the My bpost app.
Why do I have to pay customs formalities on all shipments from outside the EU worth more than €150?
FAQ
Residential
For purchases outside the EU with a value of €150 or more, the online shop is not allowed to collect the VAT. This must be done on arrival in Belgium. That is why, in addition to VAT and any import duties, you also have to pay customs formalities for the clearance of your shipment. For this type of shipment the cost is €40. An example: You buy a piece of jewellery for €160 outside the EU. In addition to this, you will have to pay: Import costs: €40 VAT (21%): €41.79 This brings the total cost of the piece of jewellery to €241.79 (= €160 + €40 + €41.79)
For more information about return shipments – the address and the refund – you should check the website of the seller.
FAQ
Residential
Read the return instructions on the website of the online shop. That's where you'll find the address where you should send your parcel and how the refund is organised.
There is no return label in my parcel. Can I have the return shipment paid for by the original sender?
FAQ
Residential
You must ask the original sender of your parcel about that. If he/she is willing to do that, then ask him/her to create the return label online and e-mail it to you.
