How much does it cost to send a parcel?
The price to send a parcel depends on the weight, size and destination. It is easy to calculate the price online. It's also easy to create the shipping label online or in the My bpost app.
Send a parcel: which details do I need?
To deliver your parcel correctly, we need the following details:
  • Your address. That is important if your parcel is returned.
  • If you choose delivery to a specific address: first name, last name, street, number, postcode, city and e-mail address of the addressee. That way we can take his/her delivery preferences into account. If you send the parcel to a Parcel Locker, then the e-mail address is required.
  • If you choose delivery to a Pick-up Point or Parcel Locker: choose a location from the list. This option is only possible if you create your shipping label online.
To send a parcel, you must know its weight.   Sending a parcel outside the EU
  • Complete the CN23 section / document and attach a copy (customs documents):
    • These fields must be completed on this document:
      • Sender
      • Addressee
      • HS code: Customs worldwide use the uniform HS code (Harmonized System) to identify goods. To find out which code you should use, please consult FPS Finance.
      • Country of origin
      • Shipment details
  • Always include two copies of the invoice or the pro forma invoice.
  • For shipments with a value of more than €1,000 you should also add the Single Administrative Document.
     
What is the bpost price to send a parcel abroad?
If you send goods, they must always be sent as a parcel. The price to send a parcel abroad depends on the weight, size, destination and the options you choose. With bpost you can send parcels of up to 30 kg to more than 220 countries. Make your shipping label online, via the eShop, or go to a Post Office or Post Point.
How do I stamp my parcel?
To send a parcel, you need a shipping label. You purchase your shipping label online, in the My bpost app or in a Post Office, Post Point or Parcel Point.
  • Create a shipping label online or in the app and print it at home or on payment in a Post Office, Post Point or Parcel Point.
  • Purchase your shipping label in a Post Office, Post Point or Parcel Point (depending on the available selection).
  • Order it from the bpost eShop (sold per 10) or buy a pre-stamped package.
How do I create a shipping label?
Here's how to create a shipping label online or in the My bpost app:
  • Go to the online shipping tool or the app and choose between a national or international shipment.
  • Choose a delivery method: an address, Parcel Locker or Pick-up point. Enter the weight and if desired choose extra options.
  • Enter your details then those of the addressee.
  • Pay and print your shipping label. Or choose the 'Print my shipping label' option and have it printed in a Post Office or Post Point.
Can I attach stamps to my parcel instead of a mailing label?
You can use stamps instead of a shipping label if your shipment does not exceed the following dimensions and weight:
  • Width: 230 mm
  • Length: 350 mm
  • Height: 30 mm
  • Weight: 2 kg
Please note: if you send a parcel with stamps, then there is no barcode and you cannot follow it with Track & Trace. A shipping label has a barcode and can be followed with Track & Trace.
How must I print and attach my online mailing label?
You print and attach your shipping label as follows:
  • Print your shipping label (at home) or choose the option ‘Print in a Post Office or Post Point'.
  • Attach the shipping label to your parcel with strong tape. Make sure that it is water-proof and can withstand transportation.
I made an error when making my mailing label online. Can I still adjust the details?
Once you have created and paid for the shipping label, you cannot change it. You must create a new one.
I sent a parcel. How do I receive a receipt or invoice?
If you create your shipping label online, indicate in the shopping basket – before paying – that you want to receive a receipt or invoice. You cannot request proof of payment afterwards.
Can I make my mailing label or have it printed in a Post Office?
You can buy your shipping label in a Post Office, Post Point or Parcel Point or have the shipping label that you created online printed there. In your shopping basket – before you pay – indicate the option ‘Print in a Post Office, Post Point or Parcel Point’. Please note: this choice is valid for your entire order and not per label. Some Post Offices and Parcel Points have a kiosk where you can create your shipping label.
How do I stamp my parcel for outside Belgium?
To send your parcel abroad, you need a shipping label. You can buy a shipping label online, in our eShop, or in a Post Office or Post Point. For a destination outside the European Union you must also add customs documents.
What do I need to make my mailing label?
You need the following details to create a shipping label:
  • Your address
  • Address of the addressee or Pick-up Point of your choice
  • E-mail address of the addressee (required if you send to a Parcel Locker)
  • The dimensions and weight of your parcel
  • The desired options, for example whether you want to receive a confirmation text message
  • A printer You do not need special printer paper to print your shipping label. If you don't have a printer, choose the 'Print my shipping label' option and have it printed on payment in a Post Office or Post Point .
Tip: tape the label on the top of the package with strong tape.
Where can I hand in my parcel?
You can hand in your parcel or have it picked up:
  • Hand in your parcel at one of our Post Points: Post Offices, Post Points, Parcel Points and Parcel Lockers.
  • Have your parcel for outside Belgium picked up at home or at work. There are costs associated with this service.
If you want to send more than 20 parcels per day, you can use one of our 19 MassPost Centres.
Can I purchase one mailing label in the eShop?
You can only order shipping labels in the eShop in sets of 5 or 10. For one shipping label we recommend that you use our online shipping tool or go to a Post Office, Post Point or Parcel Point.
Why should I create an account?
Having an account makes sending a parcel much easier:
  • Your address (as sender) is entered automatically.
  • You immediately click on the correct addressee in your personal address list.
  • Your order history is saved.
  • You can reuse the details of a previous shipment to send a parcel quickly.
  • You can upload a CSV file to make multiple shipping labels at the same time.
How do I pay for my online mailing label?
You pay for your mailing label in the online mailing tool with MasterCard, Visa, Bancontact, Belfius, KBC, ING and PayPal.
How do I create a personal account for the online mailing tool?
You create your personal account in the online shipping tool as follows:
  • Surf to parcel.
  • Enter your first name, last name and e-mail address, indicate your gender, and choose a password.
  • Click on 'Register' to confirm.
Can I create a shippig label with the My bpost app?
Yes, through the 'Send' menu you can easily create a shipping label in the app. You can just print the label at home, at a Post Office or at a Post Point near you. Download the app: For Android For iPhone
Why do I have to enter the e-mail address of the addressee when making my mailing label online?
If you enter the e-mail address of the addressee, we can respect the delivery preferences that he/she entered in our tool. For a delivery to a Parcel Locker, we need the e-mail address to let the addressee know where and how he/she can pick up the parcel.
Can I purchase international mailing labels in the eShop?
You can buy shipping labels for light parcels (up to 2 kg) and all other parcels (up to 30 kg) in the eShop. Go to a Post Office or Post Point for express shipments.
What is an HS code?
HS stands for Harmonized System.This is a uniform system of codes used by customs worldwide to identify goods. Each type of goods has its own HS code, ranging from animals, plants, textiles, machines, weapons, stones and metals to furniture, toys, art, drinks and chemical products. When a shipment crosses the borders of the European Union, it passes through customs in the country of destination. For these dutiable shipments, the 6-digit HS code is required on the mandatory CN23 form. Based on the code, customs will calculate the import duties after which the shipment can be released.
